High Definition Vehicle Insurance offers safety and rewards-driven insurance option to more commercial fleet owners in the Southeast

Insurance option helps fleets in Kentucky and Mississippi mitigate risk, improve efficiency, and reduce costs

High Definition Vehicle Insurance (HDVI), a technology-first commercial auto insurance provider, today announces its availability to commercial trucking fleets operating in Kentucky and Mississippi. Companies in Kentucky can immediately partner with HDVI to earn lower insurance premiums based on their safety performance, while those in Mississippi can do so effective August 1.

HDVI Shift® helps small and midsize commercial trucking fleets put safety-related telematics data to better use and improve overall driver safety. Approximately 3.5 billion miles of telematics data helped HDVI build a proprietary risk model and better select, price, manage, and retain risk.

“Shift gives fleets of all sizes more control over insurance costs, including an opportunity to lower monthly premiums by up to 20% for those shown to have a strong safety performance,” said Reid Spitz, HDVI chief product officer and co-founder. “A 20% monthly savings could translate to more than $50,000 annually for a fleet of 25 trucks, or over $200,000 annually for 100 trucks.”

Data shows 90% of HDVI customers see an improvement in either speeding or hard braking, with 77% seeing improvement after their first quarter with the company. HDVI’s tailored services provide valuable insights and regular consultations their customers use to improve safety and reduce insurance costs.

HDVI is available in 22 states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. The company expects to operate in 30 states by the end of 2023.
