CVSA International Roadcheck: May 13-15, 2025

The CVSA’s International Roadcheck is a three-day, high-visibility inspection event across North America, focusing on commercial motor vehicle and driver safety. In 2025, the emphasis will be on two key areas: tire conditions and records of duty status (RODS).

Tire Inspections:

Inspectors will examine tires for proper tread depth, inflation, and signs of damage such as cuts, bulges, or tread separation. Ensuring tires are in optimal condition is crucial, as tire failures can lead to severe accidents and costly downtime.

RODS Compliance:

Accurate RODS are vital for demonstrating compliance with hours-of-service regulations. Inspectors will scrutinize logs for completeness and authenticity, checking for falsifications or omissions. Non-compliance can result in out-of-service orders and penalties.

  • Review Documentation: Ensure all driver and vehicle documents are current and accessible.
  • Train Drivers: Educate drivers on inspection procedures and the importance of accurate logkeeping.
  • Promote a Safety Culture: Encourage open communication about safety concerns and continuous improvement.

By proactively addressing the unique challenges of the CVSA International Roadcheck, fleets can safeguard their drivers, protect their assets, and contribute to safer roadways for all
